With the anticipation of their new album, Animosity, Sevendust treats us to a smorgasbord of videos and live footage on their Retrospect DVD. This DVD offers a broad look at the band and where they have come from since their 1997 self-titled debut. With two albums (and a combined sales of nearly two million copies) already under their belt and a whopping eight hundred plus shows for their rabid fans you have to expect some stories. That’s just what you get when the band members are interviewed in different settings. The most memorable story is about their friend, Snot lead singer, Lynn Strait, who died in a car accident and is the subject of “Angel’s Son�. Along with the Retrospect interview segment (probably the largest portion of the disc), there is live footage as well as live performances from The Tonight Show and Late Night with Conan. There are also the videos for “Denial�, “Waffle�, “Licking Cream� with Skin from Skunk Anansie, and the moving “Angel’s Son� with members from tons of other heavy rock bands. This video is not only meant for hardcore Sevendust fans but also people wanting to get to know the band more intimately.
