Snapcase - End Transmission
Snapcase won over many fans with their 2000 release Designs for Automotion. And how does a hardcore band like Snapecase follow-up such a brilliant album? Well, let’s look at End Transmission, the next chapter in the bands 10 year life. If you haven’t heard Snapcase, End Transmission is as good a place to start as any. It has a lot of similarities to Automotion but it reaches out even further to bring even a wider audience in. While most hardcore bands emote a rash of negative thoughts, Snapcase step in and bring a plethora of positive lyrics in some very interesting social contexts. They strive to accentuate the positive and work toward a brighter future. While some people having never heard the band will look at statements like that and think these guys are wimps. Listen to the music. It’s fucking heavy! It’s brutally heavy but somewhere, in between the lines you can get in and discover what these guys are all about. The music is fairly accessible as hardcore goes. I hope to see this band in the next little while because I’m sure their live show must be almost as intense (if not more) than End Transmission. Snapcase forges the way for many other hardcore bands to follow.
