On this album by Lemon Jelly you have no idea what to expect when you open up the psychedelic package that it comes in. With its yellow, green and purple circles it looks like a total flashback to the drug induced 60’s. Lemon Jelly consists of Fred Deakin and Nick Franglen and Lemonjelly.ky is really just a collection of 3 ep’s that the band has put out in the past. They are masters at the down tempo side of electronica and aren’t afraid to throw different things into their finished product. They start with very little, something like Kruder and Dorfmeister, and then add on to it sort of in the fashion that Coldcut would do. Upon first listen you will only hear what you might think of as a knock off but if you persevere and listen to it again right away you will see the charms that lie in Lemon Jelly and their sampledelic smorgasbord. It really grows on you the more you listen to it. There is a lot of hype regarding this band so find out why. It is well worth your hard earned money. If you have already purchased the ep’s that are included here (Bath, Yellow, and Midnight) the band warns you not to purchase Lemonjelly.ky. That is of course if you can avoid the impulse of the cool, bright cardboard cover.
