Thirty-Two Frames is a new hardcore band to come out of Louisville, KY. They have a bit of a different sound while using a whole bunch of past bands for influence. The four piece works what bands like Madcap, MOD and Dag Nasty were working on and infused a sort of emo edge to it. Before you go running away, let me explain what I mean by emo. It’s more of an attempt at singing than anything. There’s no songs about breaking up with your girlfriend or anything like that. The band seem to have a political slant to their lyrics like the lead off “Crow/Sioux War and a call to action with “…And If You Say Nothing. Thirty-Frames has screaming, no doubts about that but it’s where they add a bit more thought than just a scream that makes these guys a bit different. I would say the MOD comparison comes more from the resemblence of Jay Palumbo’s voice to the mighty Billy Milano. There is talent on this hardcore album. Watch for these guys.
