Waterdown - Never Kill The Boy On The First Date
The finding of Waterdown is a bit of a fairy tale. Victory records had no idea that Waterdown even existed let alone how good the band was. Waterdown was opening for Victory records artist Grade in Germany and Kyle Bishop (lead vocalist of Grade) and Matt Jones (bassist) recommended Waterdown to the powers that be at Victory records. They sold them by saying that Waterdown pretty much blew Grade off of the stage every night. This German band has been around since early last year but by the sound of their chops they have much experience under their belt. Just about the time you think you have the band figured out and then they pull another twist such as the totally catchy “Round Two that almost sounds ready for commercial radio, despite it’s mid-song screams. It is unlikely though that you will hear this band on radio just for the fact that they are too talented. They do a great job of having dual vocalists; one for singing and one for screaming. It would seem like Waterdown have a nice underground future ahead of them with all the peer support they have been getting as well as that from hardcore label Victory.
