If you like your pop a little more intelligent with all the harmonies in tact then Wooden Stars may be your band. They gently caress you into believing their every word. They have been playing as Wooden Stars since 1992 so they have perfected their sound. At times they remind me of Thrush Hermits earlier stuff but a little more intricate and softer. The song subject matter is somewhat depressing with tracks such as "Poison Glass and "The Summer I Drank Myself To Death" but it all fits together with their brand of "Slowcore". Great musicians + great songwriting = One fine album.
