I was just talking to people at work the other day and we brought up the subject of insults. It used to be easy to insult someone and really piss them off by talking bad about their mother. Now we don’t really take notice of those comments that belittle our moms. With mother’s day just past Saskatoon, SK Young & Sexy look at the issue with Stand Up For Your Mother. Paul Hixon Pittman (the band’s founder) doesn’t really just look at this issue. There are plenty covered but the main thing that you need to know is Young and Sexy makes pretty pop. Paul provides most of the earnest vocals but every so often we get a glimpse at the frail vocals of bandmate Lucy Brain. The band is rounded out with 3 other members making it a quintet that borrows a lot from the Beatles but also a worldly feel that a few other bands on the Mint label possess. Keep an eye on Young and Sexy. Stand Up For Your Mother is full on pop melodies that get better with each continued listen. So respect your mother and don’t let anyone put her down.
