Llorca - New Comer
Llorca provides a fresh twist on house mixed with jazz with a little bit of Garage thrown in for good measure. What we have here is some instrumentals mixed in with some very groovy vocal tracks. Take “Indigo Blues as a demonstration of what Llorca is trying to do, get your booty on the dancefloor. As I sit and write this review my head is nodding in such a fashion that anyone watching would think that I have a nervous twitch. Yes, believe what you hear. Llorca is as good as they get right now. There are flute and sax breaks like there haven’t been in ages and the jazz side alone is some super tasty vibes. Ludovic Llorca is brilliant when he brings together the samples, drum loops, jazz musicians and vocalists. This is how it’s done. Accept no imitations. Blue Note records might do themselves a favor and get a band like this on their roster. Not a St. Germain wannabe but blowing St. Germain out of the water. Llorca is one of my favorites right now.
