Nothing like a good cause to bring on a great compilation. Free The West Memphis 3 album's purpose is to provide money to Justice Watch, a foundation dedicated to assisting individuals who have been wrongly convicted. An unfortunate wrongful accusal went to 3 teenagers that were, according to the prosecuting attorney, wearing the wrong clothes and listening to the wrong music. So Supersucker's Eddie Spaghetti decided to ask some friends to make this otherwise quiet issue known to the public by way of a benefit album. ANd what an album it is. It includes Zeke (doing Iron Maiden's "Wrathchild"), Mark Lanegan (with a killer lineup of Ben Shepherd, Duff McKagan, and Mike Johnson), L7, Nashville Pussy (doing a great version of AC/DC's "Highway to Hell"), Murder City Devils (taking a crack at the Misfit's "She"), and Joe Strummer with the Long Beach Dub Allstars (doing a great version of Jimmy Cliff's "The Harder They Come"). It doesn't even stop there. The below "Try if you like" artists are also included. Get this album but be careful, you may be found guilty by association!
