What’s this all about? An Edmonton based magazine is now putting out CD’s? There is a story that accompanies this disc and it comes from Mote Magazine editor, Gabino Travassos. He was inspired by the Honking Dog Cassette Fanzine among other things to have his readers send in music, interviews, audio art, and plain old sounds (wait until you hear the track “Ghosty Musique). You will hear clips of interviews with Veda Hille, Eric Bogle and Geoff Berner. You will hear tracks from artists almost completely unheard of (and a few of the tracks were even released without the artists permissions). It has ended up being a pretty cool little album with little filler (I might have done without the sound clips). One of my favorite tracks is Mark Colborne’s “Cut My Throat. There are plenty of little gems in here that make this 23 track disc worthwhile. Get to their website fast as the pressing is limited to 500 copies. (http://www.moregoatthangoose.com/).
