Timo Maas - Music for the Maases
As the focus of Trance music gradually switches from Paul Oakenfold to Timo Maas, one cannot help but wonder how Timo can outshine Paul and all his other compadres. This album is a bit of a career self retrospective of Timo Maas and where the DJ and remixer looks back on all his past accompishments. The first disc (Music For The Maases is a two disc DJ mix) is a little more melodic set of his own mixes and the second disc ends up being a little more grungy and rough around the edges, not a bad thing. But still, how does a German DJ come out of nowhere to claim the trance throne? Well, when you are listening to this overwhelming disc you must keep in mind that all these mixes are either original productions or remixes by Maas under his own name or his many aliases. With that in mind you will understand the power this German DJ / Producer has. Enjoy his double dose of crazy rhythms and beats.
