For a self-done album, Oklahoma Credit Card rivals some of the finest studio recordings ever done. Stu Kinzel and LynnAnn Hyde are from Portland Oregon and play a style of blues that touches a little bit of everything. Their abilities play right off of one another in a way that I haven’t seen since Rishell and Raines. Both Hohner Harmonicas and Baldoni Accordions have endorsed LynnAnn. This is quite a feat for a female blues musician. She was also invited to play at BB King’s West Coast Women In Blues festival. The album production really shines and Stu and LynnAnn also prove themselves as producers along with Bill Feldman. They trade off their vocal duties from song to song but I feel that it’s really Hyde that stands out with her raw and smoky voice. Her harp playing really stands out too. Stu Kinzel’s slide guitar playing is very impressive and lends itself to the duo very nicely. The tracks where Stu sings really differ from Hyde’s songs. This all adds up to a very dynamic album that shines from beginning note to the end. You can purchase this disc at CD Baby.
