The Salteens provide some sugary sweet power-pop from Vancouver in easy to swallow doses. In 2000 The Salteens snuck an album entitled Short-Term Memories onto the Canadian music scene without much fanfare. It wasn't long before it became a college radio-charting album. It also was nominated in the category of Best Alternative Album at Canadian Music Weeks' 2001 Independent Music Awards. A couple of years later and the Salteens are ready to drop their sophomore album of luscious pop music. The album opens up with the title track that is soft and gentle but holds the listener with Scott Walker's amazing vocals. The band is well versed in harmonies and Bad Days is full of them. It's amazing that there are 10 songs on the album but they are over in less than half an hour. Megan Bradfield is up for lead on "Damn You", which rocks a little bit harder than the previous track. If it's perfect harmonies and crafty pop songwriting you are looking for, look no further than Canada's own Salteens and their Let Go Of Your Bad Days release. It's bound to follow suit with their debut album. If sugary pop isn't your bag then the Salteens will probably only annoy you.
