While Dogwood doesn't bring anything new to the punk stage, they do what they do well. Their brand of punk would fit nicely on NOFX's Fat Wreck Chords very nicely right in between their own material and that of Lagwagon. The only thing that Dogwood does differently is head down the Christian path. When it comes down to the music there really is no difference between what they do and what Fat Wreck bands do. Dogwood's style is a no-holds barred punk that really puts their musical prowess at the forefront. The hooks are there but as I said, their music doesn't scream anything new. Singer Joshua Kemble is really shining and is one of the highlights of Seismic. The lyrics are good and they don't throw Christianity down the listener's throats. Destroy all your preconceived notions about Dogwood being a Christian punk band; this is a band that deserves to enter the punk arena. Their punk is as fast and aggressive as anything on Fat Wreck.
