Now with the bugs tweaked and the songwriting process coming together, the ex-Spiritualized are back with their sophomore album. No slump here as the get right into things with the rocking "A Grave To Go". It has a bit of a Charlatans feel to it but a little more rock than dance. Lupine Howl have decided to lead of with the "Don't Lose Your Head" single, which is a mellower track more along the lines of their former band. It's a catchy track that could stand up against the best of Brit-pop. Listen to the way they achingly play on the album closer "All I Can Do" to find out just how much heart Lupine Howl has. There have been some improvements on Carnivorous and it's sure to please anyone who has been following the band for the last couple of years. I predict that Bar At The End Of The World should find them on the brimming edges of the British scene and that we may just see some action on this side of the big pond. These guys are getting more and more comfortable not being commanded by Jason Pierce and stretching out in ways that they never knew possible.
