Darkest Hour is upon us once again with another slab of their death/hardcore metal. Last time around they had just dropped So Sedated, So Secure and were winning accolades all over the place. Now with their sophomore Victory release they are about to take the next step. If you haven't heard Darkest Hour, you need to be prepared for an aural bludgeoning. They are more intense that ten East Coast punk bands put together. The band has been around for over eight years now and has a wonderfully heavy sound to them like very few hardcore bands I've experienced. They have managed to work through tough times to form an even tighter bond as a band. On Hidden Hands the band actually looked towards legendary producer Fredrick Nordstrom (At The Gates, In Flames, Cradle of Filth) to help them out. The band took the trip to Gothenburg, Sweden to have him produce as well as got some death metal legends to perform on the album. Have a listen to the breakdowns in "Veritas, Aequitas" for some of that true Swedish metal touch. In the end it proved to be one of the best things that Darkest Hour could have done. Hidden Hands is super intense album that is bound to please the death metal fan as well as branch over into the hardcore realm. Let Darkest Hour fuck with your head.
