F-Minus - Wake Up Screaming
F-Minus is back with their follow-up to the impressive Suburban Blight album. Wake Up Screaming will make you do just that. If you have never been exposed to an F-Minus album, you need to be prepared mentally and physically and this album is definitely no exception. Usually music like this gets lumped into the hardcore genre but F-Minus are a little different than the likes of Bane or Drowningman. They have a lot more of the old-school punk attitude to go along with the screaming vocals. It's more than intense. If you aren't prepared, a F-Minus album will indeed rip your head clean off. The coroner won't have any idea what the cause of death was. And you will become just another statistic in the F-Minus history book. They don't have time for melody. They don't have time for harmonies. Razor sharp guitar riffs and machine gun like drumming is the background for Brad Logan and Erica Daking's trading vocals. Yup, if you can actually believe it, there is indeed a girl singing in F-Minus. Wake Up Screaming is one of the more intense punk albums to hit the desks at MusicEmissions this year. Check it out if heavy punk is up your alley. Oh, forgot to mention that Steve Albini was behind the recording of this album. Nuff said.
