Peter Kruder and Richard Dorfmeister have probably collectively released more albums with their individual projects (Tosca and Peace Orchestra) than they have together. This 4-track G-Stoned EP was our introduction into what to expect from these downtempo geniuses. Indeed, it was this EP that inspired many others and is considered a staple in the must-have trip-hop catalog. The EP starts off with the piano noodling of "Definition" and builds into one of the funkiest slabs of downtempo ever laid down. On "Deep Shit Pt. 1 & Pt. 2" we are given a little taste of world beat in the mix. You might say that the Thievery Corporation based their dub sound strictly off of this single track. It's when you reach "High Noon" you begin to recognize the sound that these two pioneered. Kruder and Dorfmeister close with the impressively dark "Original Bedroom Rockers" that sets the pace for pretty much every Chillout album to come after it. While they still haven't released an full album of all original material, it's compilations like the K&D Sessions that makes the world aware of what potency this duo possesses.
