Obviously overcoming the dreaded sophomore slump, Tim Easton is well on his way to becoming an alt-country superstar in his own right. On Break Your Mother's Heart, Tim enlisted some pretty strong musicians such as Jim Keltner, Hutch Hutchinson, and Jai Winding (Jackson Browne). In the studio they used John Hanlon who had some great experience behind him with albums by Neil Young, Beach Boys, and Grandaddy to his credit. On thing that Tim was proud of with this recording is that not one computer was used in creating the music. The record was made live with Easton's guitar and vocals being tracked in the same room as the band. You wouldn't believe how bright that makes Mother's Heart. It is one of the cleanest and most honest recordings in quite a few years. If he keeps improving his recording and songwriting at this pace then we are looking at a true legend in the making. Easton doesn't let crappy songs slide into his entourage. Instead, he ensures that every song is a crisp and brilliant as the last and strives for improvement on every track let alone album. My favorite track here is the gentle "Hanging Tree". It provides an amazing guitar line
