Geminus Sect is an interesting Industrial band. Yup, they are full-on industrial like the best of 1980's heavy electro-metal bands such as Ministry and Skinny Puppy. Geminus Sect are apparently identical twins, Xevin and Xayne, which in itself lends a pretty interesting story. Gemination is pretty heavy album that shows signs of the boys talents. They kind of blend the old school industrial sounds of the aforementioned bands with some of the newer aspects of Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. It doesn't come off as anything totally original but there are aspects of it that really work. The production on Gemination could have been a slight bit better. It's pretty fuzzy but that may be the sound that the twins were shooting for. The song lyrics are angry and menacing but that's industrial for you. Screaming at their fans that "Nothing is Real" and they are "Better Off Dead", the boys seem to have it all figured out. I'm thinking that Geminus Sect needs to venture out a little more and find something new and exciting to influence their music. Industrial hasn't been given the full treatment yet and it is just sitting idly by waiting for the right band to tap into it.
