Other Natural Flavors is an indie band from San Diego, CA and have a very impressive DIY ethic. Drop The World is their latest album and it was recorded at the Paramount Recording Studio in West Hollywood with Barry Conley engineering. The sound on the album is crisp an unique with some fun songs mixed in with some more straight ahead rockers. Other Natural Flavors mixes a male and female vocal style with some groovy backing music. They state in their bio that they get compared to Fleetwood Mac. I can't see it all. ONF is a lot more poppy than Fleetwood Mac ever has been. Chris Van Cott's vocals are a little to immature to even compare. His vocals might be a little more along the lines of Barenaked Ladies. The music is thick and the arrangements are unique. There is room for a band like this in any pop fans collection. Drop The World is not a perfect album but it is fun and diverse throughout the 10 tracks. They have an early 90's pop feel to them and there is some gems in these 10 tracks that could become favorites.
