Boy Sets Fire raised the bar with their After The Eulogy release. This was a highlight in the hardcore punk world from the past couple of years and now BSF is going to attempt to put that behind them and follow it up. Tomorrow Come Today is a very strong album. It is powerful in all aspects of songwriting and musicianship. One thing that Boy Sets Fire knows how to do is to add melody into the harsh and aggressive music that is Boysetsfire. They seem to have moved a little more toward the melody part on Tomorrow Come Today. So it depends on if you like melody mixed in with your hardcore as to if you will enjoy this album. Me, I like the break from the screamo vocals and find it adding another dimension to their sound. I think they may have gone a bit far to include a piano in the track "Last Year's Nest". This may be their attempt at mass acceptance and a reach for where the money is (read: sell out). Who knows? I think the music may have suffered a little with this but there are still some great heavy tracks on Tomorrow. Check out the intensity of "Release The Dogs". I can see this being a case of one of their mellower tracks hitting radio and then someone being pissed off at the heavier tracks on the album. What can you say? Boy Sets Fire is a diverse band and they are still very creative. I enjoyed this album a lot. Not quite as much as Eulogy but it is a great all round album.
