The Oranges Band come from Baltimore. Lead Orange, Roman Kuebler is a former member of Spoon, mostly as just a touring member. The Oranges Band is his main project and All Around is his debut full-length. While not a punk band, The Oranges Band does possess some of that punk attitude. I also hear some of the current garage rock infused into their music, although not extremely apparent. Nothing really grabs your attention on All Around though. I think it may be Kuebler's vocals that seem to be lacking. He has the type of voice that just seems to get on your nerves after a while. "All That Money (You'll Get Over It)" is a slower track but it comes off as boring. Same goes for "North Carolina". It seems like a well written song but the presentation is lacking. Roman and his Oranges seem a little more at home on the faster, more fun songs like "Finns For Our Feet" and "Keep Your Teeth". These songs move along and keep the listener bopping along nicely. We have to remember that The Oranges are still a young band and may grow into something of merit. As it is, All Around is a take it or leave it kind of album.
