Soul Purpose is a new independent hip hop group consisting of three members, Mazz, Koncepts, and Zvi. They have signed onto the hot indie rap label Coup D'Etat and are about to drop their debut album, Breaking Records on us and the underground is not ready for this talented group. This is a powerful album that is consistent throughout its entirety. The samples are different and even though they sound a little amateurish they seem to work for Soul Purpose. It's better this way so that the rhymes are the forefront of the mix. One of the best tracks on the album is one called "Bricks To THe Persian Gulf". It has a dark overtone, sort of like a Wu-Tang project but not over produced. There is so much soul on this album that their name is totally descriptive of their music. Find out why artists like Planet Asia and 3-6 Mafia are using these boys. There is much talent here just waiting to be discovered. Their first single, "Take Cover" is already climbing the CMJ charts.
