What can be said about Mixmaster Mike that hasn’t already been said? The man has won the DMC world championship three times, co-founded the Invisible Skratch Picklz, and help Beastie Boys become the rap band they have become. What’s next for Mike? He has agreed to release an album of killer turntablism and hip-hop beats on Moonshine records. This means reaching an audience he would probably not have a chance to reach had he stuck with Asphodel. The album includes rhymes by Freddie Foxxx, BS 2000, Guru of Gangstarr, Binary Star, Fat Lip (ex-Pharcyde), Deltron 3030, Large Professor, KRS-One, Cali Agents, El the Sensei and many original tracks from Mike. The amazing thing about having all these artists on one CD is getting them all to agree on it. This just shows how much hip-hop artists respect Mixmaster Mike. His original tracks are outstanding and having all these artists mixed on one compilation is a treat in itself. Mike isn’t going anywhere so check him out and get your laundry done on Spin Psycle.
