Eighteenth Street Lounge (ESL) is a label that has been picking up steam in the last couple of years due to the hard work and persistence of founders The Thievery Corporation. If you haven't heard of Thievery Corporation then you probably haven't been paying attention to the downtempo/chill scene. This duo has been on top of the mellow, global electronica scene for years now and have created a great label for like-minded artists. And if you are into downtempo music then Den of Thieves will be right up your alley. When this album goes on, time just seems to drift by and you can relax with your favorite beverage and friends, talking about current events and great music. Some highlights include Arkestra One's "Into The Light" and Thievery Corporation's own previously unreleased "Language Symbolique". For fans of the ESL label, you will be excited to hear some of the label's upcoming music like Frederico Aubele, Sofa Surfers, and the Karminsky Experience. Thunderball is one of the more active artists on the label with almost a drum and bass feel to them and they are here with a track called "The Panther" and one with Liftoff called "Welcome Back Cooper". Ursula 1000 is one of the label's finest groups as well and there is a version of "Samba 1000" mixed by Nicoala Conte. Den of Thieves is a great downtempo electronica sampler that fans and the curious will appreciate.
