Six Degrees recording artist Karsh Kale is back with his proper sophomore album, Liberation and has proven that Realize was not just a fluke. Karsh takes a base of East Indian music and puts it to a western flavor of electronica. I find it amazing how seamlessly that he makes the integration works. It's like the Indian drums and singing was just meant for a electronica project. Although some of this has been done before by a few other producers, it has been Karsh that has brought it to a level that can move into other fanbases. World Music, per se, has a premonition that it is old and features cultures that have long since past. Kale has taken East Indian influences that may have been forgotten about and melded them with some cutting edge beats and samples to create something quite relevant. One thing that Kale did a bit different on Liberation was make use of his live band. This really adds another dimension to what he has to offer. This proves that there is more to Kale than just trickery and samples. Liberation is an album that should bring Karsh Kale into the spotlight as someone who is working to change the face of World Beat music.
