Maybe I'm not understanding Garrison. This band held so much promise when I heard their Mile In Cold Water CD a couple years back. Be A Criminal was a good effort but didn't quite stand up to the Cold Water CD. Now with the release of The Silhouette EP they seem to be just fucking around. The album starts out with a noisy track called "Come On Die Young (No Seriously)" which has absolutely no appeal. "Everything You Want" they seem to get back on track but it seems that Garrison is not happy with the sound that they have forged out. They were close to a Sunny Day Real Estate sound but now they have hardened up and are going for a louder sound. Chaos is rampant on this EP and it seems that they have a bit of trouble holding the reigns on this beast. I am interested to see what their next full-length is going to sound like. They are on the brink of something new but it sounds like they are still searching a little. It's good to change up your sound but you have to be comfortable in the waters where you tread.
