Logh - The Contractor and the Assassin EP
Here is a Swedish band that is going against the grain. What I mean by that is Logh plays a gentle style of pop music as opposed to all the hard rock and metal to come out of Sweden. The Contractor and the Assassin is a teaser EP leading up to their new full-length, The Raging Sun. I received both albums at once but I am going in a logical progression and listening to this EP before I venture into the full-length. I fell in love with this band when I listened to their release that got picked up by Deep Elm, Every Time a Bell Rings an Angel Gets His Wings. It was a gentle affair and with this EP they continue down that path. I could very much see fans of bands like Codeine and Low becoming listeners of Logh. They have a lot in common. The Contractor and the Assassin title track is from the upcoming album but the other 4 tracks are previously unreleased and this EP is the only way you will get them. They are awesome. Logh is turning into one of my favorite slo-core bands. The EP is mostly instrumental and the tone is a little dark but with a bright outlook. Now, I can move onto the full-length.
