Well, I just finished listening to Logh's impressive EP called The Contractor and the Assassin, strategically the first song on The Raging Sun as well. So after listening to the EP I was pretty excited about this album. The first new track on The Raging Sun is one called "End Cycle", a beautiful track consisting of a lovely piano line and Mattias Firberg's soft and gentle voice. It's a brief song but it is soft enough to float away into you best dreams. On the title track the guys get a little more aggressive than what we are used to. It's a nice change. The same goes for "The Bones Of Generations" that turns to screams. But these tracks are always followed up by their more mellow tracks like "A Vote For Democracy". These tracks seem to paint an aural picture of what a Swedish winter must be like. A beautiful mass of bright white snow but so quite due to the sound absorption of the fluffy stuff. I can easily imagine trekking across the white landscape and listening to Logh. Indeed, Logh may not fit everyone's bill for a quite/loud mixture but I have a feeling that many more fans will be gained with the release of The Raging Sun. It is the type of album that gets better the more it's listened to, as I am going through it again for the fifth time. It's just a matter of getting proper distribution in North America.
