The influence that Jawbreaker had on not only the punk world cannot be understated. It was only a matter of time before someone decided to do a tribute album and Dying Wish was the label to venture forth. There are a lot of fairly big name bands on the tribute but there are also quite a few that I have never heard of before. It seems that the more obscure bands took this task a little more seriously as they have provided the best tracks on the compilation. Take "Shield Your Eyes" done by For Amusement Only. You can just sense that the singer has a sneer on his face as he's singing. One of the best tracks on the album was by a band called Counterfeit. They reworked "Million" and it was true to the original. Kill Your Idols slayed "Do You Still Hate Me" turning it into their own. One of the better tracks by a band that I knew was Sparta's heartfelt rendition of "Kiss The Bottle". Face To Face fail with their "Boat Dreams From The Hill. Other bands that you might recognize on the tribute are Travoltas, Riddlin' Kids (doing a hideous version of "Jinx Removing"), Nerf Herder, and The Reunion Show. All in all, most Jawbreaker fans would really enjoy this album. Anyone just looking to get into Jawbreaker might be better off with just buying Dear You or 24 Hour Revenge Therapy. Can't beat the real thing especially when it comes to a band like Jawbreaker.
