Where did Squirtgun disappear to for like 5 years? They released Another Sunny Day on Lookout Records and then just kind of faded off into nothingness. Well, Mass and Dan joined Screeching Weasel for a while and then helped out Jesse Michaels with his Common Rider band. Mass continued to produce punk bands at his Sonic Iguana Studios. Matt went to school and got his MFA in creative writing and taught in a Cincinnati college of art and design. Flav also went to school and earned a PhD in molecular genetics and published many manuscripts on the subject. He also started designing guitars. You might have seen him singing in a band called the Simians as well. No wonder there haven't been any albums. Well the guys got back together in 2001 to start work on their long awaited album entitled Fade To Bright and I am sure glad they did. This is a major kick-ass melodic punk album that ranks among some of the best out there. There are a bunch of guest vocalists on the album adding to the diversity of delivery. Fade To Bright really outclasses all of Squirtgun's past material. They have reached a new high that all punk fans should pay attention too. It might be one of those cases where people just write off Squirtgun as hasbeens but listen up because this is some of the most fun punk ever written. How can we get Squirtgun to replace Blink 182 on the radio?
