See, I told you these guys had it in them. I have been following Saves The Day's career since their very first album and knew that there was so much more to these guys than emo punk. In Reverie moves Saves The Day to the next level. I'm not sure what it was that got them up to this power pop, similar to that of Zuckerbaby, whether it was the Dreamworks deal or Rob Schnapf in the production chair but they have done it. They have made the transition from standard emo band to madly catchy power pop that hits you on so many levels. Now here's where it gets tricky, a perfect album from Saves The Day would be a mix between In Reverie and Stay Where You Are. Both had merit but too much of one thing is, again, going to wear on you. In Reverie proves to me that Saves The Day have different music in them. Now, what needs to happen is for Chris Conley to wear more than one hat. This is where the perfect album is going to come from. In Reverie proves to me that Conley and the rest of Saves The Day have a long career ahead of them. Kudos, though to the band for making a much needed format change. Now work the two different styles in together and we will have a blockbuster album.
