54-40 goes lounge! Yup, Paloma is a side project for the 54-40 crew along with the sultry vocals of Coco Love Alcorn. The story goes something like this: Coco Love was doing back up vocals for 54-40 during an entire year of national tours. While the band was soundchecking, riding the bus or on side stops during their tour Alcorn and 54-40 collaborated on a few things. That's where Paloma started from. You will find Paloma's sound a bit different than that of 54-40's. First off, the band is fronted by a female with amazing vocals. As well, Paloma uses some programming and drum machines with some tracks such as "If I Had A Reason" end up being full on danceable songs. For a band that is very consistent in the pop world it is good to see them branch out and try new things. Paloma is a winner with the cool beats and rhythms and Coco's beautiful lyrics.
