The first volume of Arabian Travels was one of Six Degrees strongest selling compilations. Now it's time for part two. On Arabian Travels 2 we are treated to a little more traditional sounds. There is still a cross-cultural sound on pretty much every track. Subtle additions to electronic beats and samples add to already enticing and rhythmic music. As well as other world beat sounds being added to the Arabian mix. Six Degrees did a fine job reaching beyond their own roster to pull in talent for Arabian Travels 2. In fact, not one of the artists on this compilation are currently recording for the label. Some of the artists include but not limited to Toires, Eastenders, Jef Stott, Esoterica, Kaya Project and Samsara Sound System. It's almost impossible to pull out favorite tracks too because the collection of songs on Arabian Travels 2 fit so well together. Some of the tracks have a lot more western influence like Eastenders "Tender" and some of them hardly even stray from tradition like Mercan Dede's "Nar-I Ney". If you enjoyed the first volume of Arabian Travels then this one will go down just as good. If you are new to this series, it doesn't really matter where you jump in.
