Punk is not dead at all. It has just made a move to the underground and if you look hard, you will find punk bands thriving in every area of the globe. In fact, bands such as the Business have been hard at work punking it up since 1983. Crap, I was 12 years old then. Bands like Rancid have added enough elements of other types of music that old school punk that could be considered Oi-punk. You know, the type of punk that has the super catchy choruses like "Saturday's Heroes". Most people don't even give a shit about bands like The Business except for the hardcore punks that still eat this stuff up but it must be said that Hardcore Hooligan is actually a very good album. Have a listen to "England 5, Germany 1" for proof of this. "Guinness Boys" shows a band that gets everyone singing along. I would imagine that this would be a great soundtrack for drinking beers after a World Cup Soccer match where you team just kicked ass. The Business don't really bring anything new to the table. Instead they just keep the homefire burning for punks all over the world.
