One of the definitive punk bands for me has to be NOFX. With that being said, upon each NOFX album release I tend to get excited. I know a few punk fans that think NOFX is just one big joke. They don't get it because NOFX is indeed one big joke, but they encompass pretty much everything punk about music. Sure, they may not scream into the mike and may not play as fast as they can but that may explain why Fat Mike and the crew have lasted as long as they have. They have been around since 1983. I call that longevity. The War On Errorism is a total shot on politics, plain and simple. The cover is a drawing of a clown, more than resembling George Bush. I'm Canadian so I can state my point of views with little impact. George Bush is just too easy a target. I happen to be in Portland, OR on business and saw a bumper sticker that said it all: "George Bush is a total idiot, and you know it". NOFX must have designed the sticker to coincide with this release, having a song entitled "Idiots Are Taking Over". There are plain old funny songs like "She's Nubs" talking about a girl with no legs or arms. Sick humor but humor just the same. The War On Errorism is a classic NOFX album that should go down as one of their better albums. Still, arguably not as good as White Trash... but bloody close though. I look forward to their next tour. "Decom-poseur", fuck they're brilliant!
