Nowhere Man is what Vikas Pawa goes by. He is of East Indian descent and was raised in Singapore. As many students do, Vikas gave up school for rock music. Never content to sit still, Nowhere Man has called Hawaii, New York, Tucson, and others home. Right now, you might catch him in Arizona. Through his years of playing with other bands he has picked up many influences that you can hear on Considered To Tears, his debut solo album. The album starts out with the very upbeat and driving "100 Lies", giving the listener a slight hint at where the trip lies ahead. The quirky "Battlehard" follows with a gentle sound that sounds like it could fall apart at any time. one weak moment on the album is "Ornery" with a synth style background. It just sounds like Nowhere Man is bored. Now, "I Am Forgetful" is a demonstration of what Vikas is capable of. It's a gentle track again but it sounds so inspired. There are experiments with electronics on the album (the very impressive "Traveling Light") that gives Considered To Tears another dimension. "...Take It Away" is a pop classic waiting to be discovered. Another thing that I like about Considered is that Vikas is not so self-indulgent that he had to fill up over an hour of music. These 10 songs are very diverse, giving us an overview of what goes on in Nowhere Man's head. Good work.
