Kish Kash is the third installment for Simon and Felix of the Basement Jaxx and quite possibly one of the strongest albums of their career. It's been a bit of a slow year for dance music. That is until now. Kish Kash opens up with a key indicator of what is to come. The track is called "Good Luck" and it features Lisa Kekaula from the Bellrays. But the party doesn't really get started until "Right Here's The Spot" that features a bit of an unlikely cameo. Meshell N'dgeocello is the girl that drives Right Here home. Sure, people may end up comparing the song style to that of a Prince album (a theme that Basement Jaxx were probably going for in the first place) but the song kicks and gets you up off your ass. Dizzee Rascal is featured on a track called "Lucky Star" too in one of his best performances. Siouxsie Sioux does one of the best songs she's ever been involved with on "Cish Cash". It's also one of the best electro-clash songs next to Ladytron. "If I Ever Recover" has a bit of a slower beat going on, allowing the listeners some much needed recovery time. Other featured vocalists include Totlyn Jackson, JC Chasez (Nsync), and Phoebe. The previous two Basement Jaxx albums were good but not as consistent as Kish Kash. Shake your ass and you will feel so much better.
