Ah, politics. It is the fuel for more than a few punk albums. George W. Bush is probably the most hated leader of the USA and none other than Anti-Flag is going to tell you why. On the sleeve of this disc, they have instructions on how to create a stencil of George W. with a footer saying, "One Term President". I'm not sure if one little punk band will put a stop to Mr. Bush but let's see with the election next year. "Punk The Vote"! The Terror State is much more than just yelling at their fearless leader. In fact, there has been a lot of research going into these songs. Ever track on the album includes a little essay on the true meaning and the research that was done. Songs target the W.T.O., the Iraqi war, activism, Bush's administration (of course), and the FBI's COINTELPRO, a program to neutralize political dissidents. Let me tell you that there is more education in this Anti-Flag album than I have ever seen in a punk album. And the music is awesome too. "Mind The G.A.T.T." is a whack to the face with it's intensity. My favorite track title on the album is "Operation Iraqi Liberation (O.I.L.)", a song about Iraqi civilian casualties in the recent US Invasion. The cover of the album speaks strong too. It has a young girl military gear and on the inside, with the phrase "Innocence Is The First Casualty", she is laying down. When you look at a caucasian girl in this circumstance, a situation for Iraqi's on a daily basis, it tends to hit home even harder. I hope and pray for the world that Bush does not get re-elected next year. Anti-Flag show us again what punk was and is supposed to be, a political statement.
