Scott Herren (aka Savath + Savalas) takes an ambient trip with his first album for Hefty Records. The album is entirely pleasurable and allows you to escape from reality for a while. The beauty Scott manages to create with both playing the instruments and tweaking the sounds on the computer is outstanding. Forget about the "Folk Songs" in the title as these won't be considered folky for a long time to come. This is futuristic chill out music at it's best and it never manages to annoy the listener. It would work perfectly as a soundtrack to an arty film. This is one of the best releases I have heard so far this year.
