While not really a likely combination of players, The Unintended are even stranger in the sound that they create. Rick White of Elevator (Elevator To Hell) and Eric's Trip fame met Dallas Good from the Sadies. Rick was responsible for a few of the Sadies' album cover paintings as well as contribute some lyrics to the band. Rick and Dallas started working together musically when Dallas helped record Elevator's Darkness to Light album. The two saw fit to bring in the rest of the Sadies as well as approaching their good friend, Blue Rodeo's Greg Keelor to join. The Unintended was born. They decided that Greg's ranch would be the best place to sit down and record this album. The music really isn't what you would expect either, or maybe it is. The album starts out with the psychedelic "The Collapse" that sounds like a paranormal existence. More along the lines of what I was expecting is found on "Stay Calm". It has a country edge to it but still strange and eluding all the same. That seems to be the feel for what the rest of The Uninteded debut album is like. It's like cowboys on peyote. Not extraordinary but different. It allows the bands to reach out into territories that they normally wouldn't be able to go individually.
