Park - It Won't Snow Where You're Going
Park really impressed me with their debut album, No Signal so the follow-up, for me, is going to be a tough one to review. It's been a couple years since then so Park has done many tours and Park is a little more mature. I'm not sure if time has got the best of them but I found their debut a little more compelling that It Won't Snow. But I think that It Won't Snow will get better with age. It's one of those albums that is a little deeper than what appears on the surface. On a track like, "Dear Sweet Impaler" is a broader effort. While Park could fit into an Emo bill, they are more progressive like a Coheed and Cambria. The mix some of what Samiam was last seen doing on tracks like "Pomona For Empusa" with a chuggy guitar track. Their music is so strong and uplifting, that is until you actually listen to the lyrics. They are a little depressing in that area. But I must say that a band that can get away with a song titled "Gasoline Kisses for Everyone" can't be half bad. Another brilliant title is "This Would Be Easier If You Would Just Die". I hope to catch Park in a live setting in the coming months.
