Kenseth Thibideau is moving into a bit brighter territory with the release of his sophomore album as Howard Hello. He moves a little more into the pop territory than the post-rock feel that his debut had. Thibeideau is experiment with some very lush melodies on Don't Drink His Blood. Think of early Mercury Rev without the spastic noodling and you might have something close. The vocals are way out there. I can't really pinpoint who's singing what but the nasally voice that graces such tracks as "Way To Go" and "The Parasite" are a fabulous switch-up from the tried and true vocalist. I believe they are courtesy of Marty Anderson. Listen to the gentle "False Hopes" and fade away into the harmonies. The music is never intense. Instead, it ebbs and flows gentle allowing your mind to drift. The soundscapes really are beautiful and I think this is a great improvement on Howard Hello's debut album.
