Kinky makes more of a move towards organic rock than their previous electronica efforts. Don't think that you won't want to move your ass because Atlas is one funky fun ride. The album shoots out of the starting gate with the total rock oriented "Presidente". It has the repeating refrain "You paint everything in colors instead of black and white" and it sticks in your head long after the song is over. Then Kinky get all funky on us with the uber-groovy "The Headphonist" featuring Cake's lead singer. He fits in well here. They mix up Spanish and English making them accessible on either side of the Mexican/USA border. They still inject plenty of electronic elements and it really works with their live instrumentation too. Atlas is a funky fun ride that people should flock too. I would keep an eye out for Kinky on tour as well. I'm betting that they put on one killer live show.
