Long Since Forgotten are the epitome of why emo has gotten a bad rap. Now, I'm not saying that Long Since Forgotten are bad. Quite the contrary, I really enjoy their sunny music but God Dammit! It's not emo! Can't we just call this kind of music rock? Anyway, enough venting. Long Since Forgotten are from Syracuse, NY and have been picking up steam since their inception back in 1999. Standing Room Only marks the bands third full-length album and they have brought Ed Rose in for production again which proves to be a great choice. Standing Room Only is a crystal clear album with all the right levels. Ah, and the nice teenager style lyrics like I Don't Care if You Crash this thing. Oh, yeah baby. I'm a sucker for lyrics like these. And with Josh Coy's breathy vocals leading the way how can the girls not swoon? The only issue I can find with Standing Room Only is that some of the songs sound very similar. I never listened to All The Things You Said but I have a feeling that anyone who listens to both of the albums together will be terribly bored. My advice to Long Since Forgotten, change it up a little more or else you may be Forgotten about. Otherwise, quite a polished effort.
