Back in 2001 the screwed up collective of IfIHadAHiFi released their debut album, Ones and Zeroes on No Karma. Now with a bit of a line-up change they are ready to unleash their new masterpiece, No More Music. If post-punk needed a poster band, IfIHadAHiFi might be a likely candidate. No More Music is a cacophonous effort that really never lets up. Guitars are flying left right and center while vocals are weaving in and out in the open spaces. The music is a lot more twisted than Fugazi and not quite as melodic as Mars Volta. Somewhere in the middle you have IfIHadAHiFi. I'm not saying that this music is so out there that 95% of the possible fanbase would be turned away. No, they are still totally listenable and know how to integrate a melody as well as most. This band is more original than most though. The way they utilize instruments and vocals unlike we've really heard before. Watch for these guys in your neighborhood. I'm sure their live show is something to witness.
