A little bit out in left field lies David Torn (aka Splattercell) in the experimental electronic world. Torn has probably entered your life in some way without you knowing as he has done work on many of today's soundtracks such as Three Kings, General's Daughter, Velvet Goldmine which only touch on ones that he has done. Have a look at his website for more movies. He has also done much work with other key artists of contemporary music. He has won awards for his experimental guitar music, namely Guitar Player Magazine Reader's Poll. He is also quite a multi-instrumentalist and a proud Mac user. Splattercell allows David to travel beyond the means for which soundtracks hold him back. There is no holding back here. On Oah you can hear all sorts of instruments jumping out from the chaotic electo-bleeps that demand your attention. It's no wonder Sonic Foundry (PC music software manufacturer) has sponsered Splattercell with all it's experimentations. With Remiksis : Ah guest remixers include Dan the Automator, Charlie Clouser (Nine Inch Nails), Ryuichi Sakamoto, as well as Splattercell himself. It provides a new and altered look on the already out there Oah. Not for the light hearted. Watch for David Torn to take his Splattercell on the road in a short while.
