Martyr AD - On Earth As It Is In Hell
Martyr AD has exposed some new blood in their reincarnation. The band has been through a little change since it's debut album and the new members consist of Karl Hensel (Drums) and more impressively Andy Hart taking on the vocal role. This incarnation of the hardcore band shows that they are to be taken seriously. The music is fucking heavy and Andy doesn't let up his growl. It just keeps going through the 30+ minutes. They really get motoring on "The Serpent And The Flower" where you are sure that something is going to break, most likely Hensel's drum kit or a guitar string. On a couple tracks I hear a little Swedish metal influence. It's not obvious but it's there. The music shifts speed easily going from lightning fast to just slow and trudging. They do their best when they pick a speed and go with it. Sometimes they get a little too technical for their own good but it does provide for some diversity. If you like your hardcore heavy and bludgeoning then Martyr AD will please.
