This new band from North Carolina kind of took me by surprise. The package was fairly professional and grabbed my attention before it even hit my CD player. Creamy Velour have an aura to their music that just makes them seem successful already. I'm surprised that I haven't heard of them before now. The music is has potential of being heard on every radio station across the country (Canada too) with it's accessible sound and big ass hooks. If you see this album in the store, ask to listen to it and hook up the first track "To Love Like You". It will give you a good impression of what to expect for the rest of the album. Gentler tracks like "Sha La La" or "Sweet Salvation" really send shivers down my spin as to how beautiful Jon Witteveen's vocals can be. Yeah, I'd compare him to Jeff Buckley. He deserves it. Angel's Guise is a lush album with too many highlights to list in a review. If you are a fan of great vocals in the vein of Buckley and nice rich arrangements with a lot of diversity, track down Creamy Velour before it's on every radio station. This is a band with true potential.
